Yo learn Chinese

November 2, 2007 – 12:21 pm

Asia is a great continent with unlimited opportunities, beautiful ladies and the greatest food available on this planet. Not moving over there is simply stupid. Therefore I decided that all my actions are geared to make this important step in my life.

I want to check out all the beautiful and exciting places that Asia has to offer. I will also learn Asian languages and about contemporary Asian culture. Contemporary, not ancient. I’m not interested in some king who ruled China 4000 years ago. Go on the street of Shanghai ( shàng hǎi – Shanghai) and make a survey. Ask people in my age, that’s people in their twentys, how much they know about their ancient rulers. You will see that nobody knows anything. I consider the study of Sinology in a university pointless, because they will make You read some books, where there is a dust layer bigger than the book itself. At least it’s like this in my country. Maybe a little more useful is the study of East Asian economics, but this is not my focus at the moment.

I’m studying computer science in university and Chinese in my spare time. This way I have the freedom to learn only those things that seem important to me. Although I study Chinese in my spare time, I consider it as a real study. I set up milestones that I want to reach in a given amount of time. Sometimes I skip going to a party and study. See how serious I am.

Reaching goals is about getting things done and have a good motivation. As I am a damn lazy person this is not always easy. Therefore I optimize my work to get more things done in less time. In the remaining time I will just relax, learn Chinese or date hot Chinese woman to learn Chinese with them. This blog is intended to help You learning some Chinese, but it is also a general blog about the places I visit, like Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming and Hongkong (list will be extended in the future). Then I talk about general topics that relate to China like the worth of learning Chinese and ramble about others. Stay a while and enjoy.
