Wikipedia unblocked

April 21, 2008 – 3:55 pm

Who would have believed that? Wikipedia got unblocked in China. The Chinese variant however is still blocked.

Overall it doesn’t matter. Loading my blog to write this article took more than 10 minutes. In the morning the internet is faster, however I need to work in the morning.

A slight advantage of wikipedia  being accessible now I do have indeed. Wikipedia can be used to translate difficult English words to Chinese and vice versa.

  2. As you can see, the Olympics will be a phase tha divide China from the past from China of the future, everything will start to unblock, well and politically will change China from communist to become more democratic socialist. This is the year of changes.

    Talk later dude.

  3. I have my doubt that a little. The new visa policy forces many people to move out. A German friend who runs a bar here in Kunming since 6 years has to leave China if they don’t return to the visa policy that was in place at the beginning of the year.

I will write a longer post on the whole topic once I have enough time, as there are many related thoughts.
