What is Your Chinesepod listening level?

January 10, 2008 – 7:32 pm

I just found this Chinese Listening Test over at Chinesepod.com.

You are being presented a few sentences. You may listen each sentence twice. Then You have to decide if You understood or not.

My level is elementary(low). I didn’t really expect this, but this test made me realize my problems. While my listening is fairly good and I already have some grammar down, my vocabulary is still very small. I can repeat what they say and I even get the tones, but I don’t know the meaning of some of the words.

Take the test an see what Your listening comprehension level is. Never heard about Chinesepod? Read the full story here.

  2. Don’t get discouraged by one test result. This kind of test is not terribly accurate. You can actually take it again, and you’ll be presented with a different set of sentences, which may give you a slightly different result. (I designed the test.)

  3. Hello John

    Thanks for Your comment.
When I pursue a goal it is hard to discourage me. And learning Chinese is the thing I really want to do.
The test just made realize where I need to improve next. And that is to build up a bigger vocabulary.

    Back to the flash cards.
