Are You ashamed of Your Chinese learning speed?

Slow learning seems to be a common problem with Chinese learners. So what’s different about learning Chinese compared to learning Spanish or Italian? Well, The answer is simple: If You know one European language, then learning more will be quite easy. Chinese takes about 4 times more time to learn. Especially the tones are hard to learn, but there are ways to learn hearing and speaking the tones.
Sometimes it will happen that Your fellow students in Your Chinese class are faster than You. You might think, oh my god, do they spend 2 hours on Chinese every day? When I started out with Chinese I just attended classes. Of course this way learning speed is slow. So changing Your habits is essential. Now I do spend 2 hours on Chinese every day.
However, don’t be put of by these facts. Once You can speak some Chinese You will be proud of Yourself and You can speak a language with a high chic factor. You can make quite a few bucks with this language. Just motivate Yourself and keep on learning regularly. Even at days where You absolutely don’t want to learn. Just pick up Your Chinese textbook and read a text. Apart from that, TALK in CHINESE, You can do that even when You’re drunk. No more excuses.
